Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains the categories of information DMV Protect may collect, how information may be used, and how privacy requests may be handled.
Last updated: May 18, 2026
Information Collected on Public Pages
- Notify Me submissions may include name, email address, optional phone number, user type, message details, consent status, submission time, and delivery metadata.
- Security tools may collect technical information such as IP address, browser details, device details, Turnstile verification result, request timing, and abuse-prevention signals.
- Alex Assistance may process user messages, quick prompts, voice transcripts, Guided Help approvals, and related interaction states needed to respond to user requests.
Information Collected in Future Account Services
- Driver services may require identity, contact, license, subscription, payment, ticket/citation, court, document, claim, case status, member benefit, cancellation, and reactivation information.
- Paid lawyer services may require profile, license, practice area, location, contact, subscription, public-search, visibility, and compliance-related information.
- Assigned-lawyer services may require invitation, assigned-case, update, closure, notice-response, and service information related to a specific DMV Protect matter.
How Information Is Used
- DMV Protect may use information to respond to inquiries, send launch updates, operate public forms, prevent abuse, provide Alex Assistance, and prepare production onboarding workflows.
- In the production app, information may be used to verify accounts, reduce duplicate driver records, evaluate plan eligibility, coordinate covered ticket/citation support, direct unsupported matters, process payments, and maintain secure service records.
- Information may also be used for security monitoring, system reliability, compliance review, support operations, and required legal or policy notices.
Sharing and Access Limits
- DMV Protect limits access to personal information to authorized personnel, systems, and service providers with a legitimate operational need.
- Driver service feedback is intended for DMV Protect quality review and should not be shown publicly or shared with lawyers unless a later approved policy clearly states otherwise.
- DMV Protect may use service providers for hosting, email, security, payment, storage, communication, analytics, and support, subject to appropriate safeguards.
User Choices and Requests
- Users may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information through the support process made available by DMV Protect.
- Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, service, payment, or compliance reasons.
- Marketing or launch-update communications should include a reasonable way to opt out where required or appropriate.
Important Privacy Boundary
- Public pages should not be used to submit sensitive ticket/citation documents, driver license images, court records, payment details, or private case information unless DMV Protect provides an approved secure upload workflow.
- Users should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information with Alex on public pages before a secure account workflow is available.
- DMV Protect will continue improving privacy controls as the product moves from public prelaunch pages to full account-based services.
