Covered Ticket Policy

This policy explains which ticket/citation categories may be supported by DMV Protect coordination services and what eligibility conditions apply.

Supported Ticket/Citation Categories

  • Speeding.
  • Distracted driving / texting.
  • Red light violation.
  • Stop sign violation.
  • DUI / DWI / intoxicated driving.
  • Improper turn.
  • Improper lane change.
  • Following too closely / tailgating.
  • Failure to yield.
  • Seat belt violation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The driver must have an active eligible DMV Protect driver plan at the time required by final policy rules.
  • The ticket/citation must fall within a supported category and must not be excluded by account status, timing, documentation, jurisdiction, misuse, or policy limitations.
  • DMV Protect may review the ticket/citation before accepting it as a covered coordination matter.

Required Claim Information

  • Drivers should provide accurate state, county, ticket/citation type, citation date, court date if available, license class, contact information, and ticket/citation document uploads where required.
  • Drivers must not submit false, incomplete, misleading, altered, or unauthorized documents or information.
  • Missing, unclear, or conflicting information may delay review or require additional documents.

Coordination Process

  • A paid driver submits ticket/citation information through the approved DMV Protect workflow.
  • DMV Protect reviews subscription status, ticket/citation category, documentation, and eligibility boundaries.
  • If accepted, the matter may be routed to an assigned lawyer or approved support pathway according to DMV Protect policy.
  • The assigned lawyer may provide case updates and closure information through the DMV Protect case portal where available.

What Covered Does Not Mean

  • Covered does not mean DMV Protect is providing legal advice or representing the driver in court.
  • Covered does not guarantee dismissal, reduction, fine reduction, point reduction, insurance result, court result, or closure result.
  • Covered does not mean the driver can demand a specific lawyer unless DMV Protect approves that request through an available service pathway.

Review and Follow-Up

  • Unclear eligibility may require review by DMV Protect instead of being decided automatically by Alex or a public page.
  • DMV Protect may accept, reject, or request more information based on final policy and account records.
  • Alex may explain the policy and guide users to the correct workflow, but Alex cannot approve coverage or provide legal advice.
